Welcome to the Nigerian Igbo Catholic Community of San Jose. We are excited you chose to visit and consider partnering with us to transform lives in our community. The Nigerian Igbo Catholic Community of San Jose has taught us about our proud Igbo Nigerian heritage rooted in very deep Catholic values and we are proud to call this community home. Being part of this community has also given many of us - an intergenerational assembly- many brothers and sisters beyond our respective immediate families, and that is priceless! It is for these reasons that we invite you to come and experience our community in celebration of mass, cultural dances, food, games and networking.
To build a more sustainable community committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for practicing our culture and free exercise of our Catholic faith, we have embarked on three-year “Yes I Believe” Capital campaign. The ultimate goal of our “Yes I Believe” Campaign to have enduring impact – empowering every segment of our community with the ability to create lasting change, build true self-reliance and connect cultures through the building of this Community Center. As a vector for youth development and civic engagement, our Community Center will play an essential role in promoting sustainable social and economic development for future generations. Youth can act as a bridge between cultures and serve as key agents in promoting peace and intercultural understanding.

We profess the Catholic religion and worship our Lord through uplifting display of faith and culture in Igbo and English languages. Our church, nested within the Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, is a welcoming environment where all Igbos and friends across the Bay Area and beyond gather in service to God. Our monthly worship and gathering allows us to cultivate a lasting fraternal Igbo Catholic community, and in the process, promote and foster our Christian faith.
